BALANCING ACT
Towering at 4.2 metres and crafted from corten steel and powder coated plate steel, Balancing Act is a striking contrast of strength and vulnerability. A female dancer, mid-pose, rests in a giant steel hand — a symbol both protective and possessive. The sculpture explores the tension between grace and danger, care and control, sparking reflection on the female experience in male-dominated spaces. The ballerina’s poised elegance is frozen in a moment of ambiguity: is she being lifted up or held back? Through this unsettling balance, Balancing Act invites viewers to confront themes of power, restriction, resilience, and identity.
